Grand Prix racing – the drivers

Aston Martin Red Bull racing driver in car

Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo know that Mobil 1™ lubricants help to reduce friction and wear in all the moving parts of their cars. What does this mean to them? As the team takes on the current Formula One® season, it means more confidence in their car, extra power in their hands, increased engine reliability on the track and more chances to find the podium.

Max Verstappen joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in 2016 after a ballistic ascent through the ranks of motorsports. From the first time he drove a kart at the tender age of four-and-a-half, Max learned his trade well and, in his early teens, enjoyed a stellar career in regional and international karting, frequently punching well above his weight against more experienced rivals.

In his first eight races with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, he achieved six top-five finishes, including four podiums. He is the youngest driver to lead a lap during a Formula One Grand Prix, the youngest driver to set the fastest lap during a Formula One Grand Prix and the youngest driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix. In 2017, although Max endured a challenging start to the season, he still found the podium four times, winning in Malaysia and Mexico.

Daniel’s three 2014 victories and five other podium finishes were enough to secure third place in the 2014 Formula One World Drivers’ Championship. More recently, his impressive victory in the 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix helped him seal third place in the 2016 Formula One World Drivers’ Championship for the second time in three years. The 2017 season helped Daniel cement his reputation as a top-tier driver, as he had nine visits to the podium, one of which was an impressive win in Baku at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
