Grand Prix racing – the drivers
Max Verstappen and Alex Albon know that Mobil 1™ lubricants help to reduce friction and wear in all the moving parts of their cars. What does this mean to them? As they take on the current Formula One® season, it means more confidence in their car, extra power in their hands, increased engine reliability on the track and more chances to find the podium.
Birth: September 30, 1997
Max Verstappen joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in 2016 after a ballistic ascent through the ranks of motorsports. From the first time he drove a kart at the tender age of four-and-a-half, Max learned his trade well and, in his early teens, enjoyed a stellar career in regional and international karting, frequently punching well above his weight against more experienced rivals.
In his first eight races with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, he achieved six top-five finishes, including four podiums. He is the youngest driver to lead a lap during a Formula One Grand Prix, the youngest driver to set the fastest lap during a Formula One Grand Prix and the youngest driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix. In 2018, Max finished his fourth Formula One season with two wins and 11 podiums.
Birth:March 23, 1996
In 2019, Alex Albon joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Formula One Grand Prix team. As the first Thai driver to race in Formula One in 65 years, Alex’s rise to the top level of single-seater racing has been a story of triumph over adversity.
After making his debut at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix, where he became the first Thai driver to race in Formula One since Prince Bira raced at the 1954 Spanish Grand Prix, Alex scored his first F1® points with ninth place at the following round in Bahrain. Having adapted impressively to F1 competition, Alex will race alongside Max Verstappen for the remainder of the 2019 season.
