Stewart-Haas Racing team and the Mobil 1™-sponsored No. 4 and No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Fords

NASCAR® – Mobil 1™ partners with Stewart-Haas Racing

Since 2011, the Mobil 1™ brand has provided every Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) driver with Mobil 1™ lubricant technology and engineering support. SHR has won multiple series championships during our partnership, making SHR one of the most prominent teams in NASCAR. The Mobil 1 team continuously looks for any advantage to help the drivers maximize race car performance.

Sponsoring another winning team in 2020

Mobil 1™, the Official Motor Oil of NASCAR®, provides full primary sponsorships on all four SHR premier series cars at various NASCAR premier series races throughout the year. Race fans can see full Mobil 1 sponsorships on:

  • Kevin Harvick’s No. 4 car
  • Aric Almirola’s No. 10 car
  • Clint Bowyer’s No. 14 car
  • Cole Custer’s No. 41 car

The Mobil 1 brand remains an associate sponsor for all SHR drivers at all other races. The Mobil 1 lubricant technology support helped drivers Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick earn premier series championships for SHR in 2011 and 2014, respectively.

The drivers

The team

Tony Stewart, who has represented Mobil 1 since the brand joined SHR, retired as a NASCAR® driver at the end of the 2016 season. In 2020, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Stewart remains a Mobil 1 brand ambassador in his role as a team owner, as he co-owns SHR with industrialist Gene Haas, founder of Haas Automation. Additionally, the Mobil 1 brand is an associate sponsor of SHR’s NASCAR® XFINITY Series for the 2020 season.

“[SHR was] battling for the lead and we got in a scenario where our driveline was so efficient that we could make it on one more stop where the other teams had to pit twice to make it to the end. That was one of the biggest cases where we saw how strong Mobil 1 was.”
– Tony "Smoke" Stewart, co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing

A collaborative effort

The partnership between the Mobil 1 brand and SHR has never been just a logo on a car. Both groups work closely together to tackle racing challenges.

“With two championships already, our partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing has been pushing performance limits since day one. We’re ready to add more wins and titles to the collection. Our engineers are continuously working to advance our lubricant technology and SHR plays a large role in how we test our engine lubricants – ensuring consumers and race fans are getting the best product available.”
– Kai Decker, global motorsports and sponsorships manager at ExxonMobil

This season continues a collaborative engineering relationship used to create lubricant packages and push technology limits. This relationship helps the SHR team win races and ExxonMobil improve the quality of Mobil 1™-branded lubricant products with improved fuel mileage, engine efficiency and reliability.

A successful partnership

The partnership with ExxonMobil has led to significant on-track success for SHR, compiling two NASCAR Cup Series championships, more than 45 race wins, more than 200 top-five finishes and more than 400 top-10 finishes.

“[SHR is] thrilled to continue [its] partnership with ExxonMobil. They’ve been an incredible partner. The success we’ve achieved has been greatly helped by Mobil 1 lubricant technology and our engineers working hand in hand with their engineers.”
– Tony “Smoke” Stewart, co-owner of Stewart-Haas Racing

In addition to ExxonMobil’s successful partnership with SHR, the Mobil 1 brand is entering its 17th year as the Official Motor Oil of NASCAR.
