Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use Mobil 1......Period....And Here's Why... I've had my 1998 Ford F150 with a 4.6L SOHC V-8 since new. I run only Mobil 1 5w30. Drove it 266,000 miles until it blew a head gasket. Where we tore it apart - absolutely NO WEAR - ZERO. Clean inside and no wear. Cylinder walls still had a crosshatch pattern. Crank and cam journals were void of wear and we went back with standard sized bearings. I can provide images of this engine when it was torn down. Mobil 1 for life.....FOR LIFE. Engine is now rebuilt and ready to go back in my truck. Had I taken better care of my cooling system it would never have blown the head gasket. It would have gone way beyond 300,000 miles WITHOUT A REBUILD on Mobil 1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cleaning ability I just started using this oil, and it's working great! According to the PDS, it "Provides exceptional cleaning power for dirty engines". This is proving to be true, I have been looking down the oil fill cap with a flashlight since I started using this oil, and what I can see of the valve train is becoming cleaner. The other oil brands prior to Mobil left the metal with a layer of yellowish/orange varnish. The Mobil 0W-40 is cleaning the metal and it is turning the silvery and shiny color of new metal! Particularly on the shaft behind the gears of the DOHC. Overall, the engine is really smooth, really pleased with this oil! Keep up the great work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you drive Suburban/Tahoe use it If you own a Suburban or Tahoe use Mobil 1 5W-30 solely and your engine can go over 300,000 miles. Now driving my 12th Suburban and the last 3 used only Mobil 1 and the first 2 went 340,000 and 350,000 miles respectively and the engines still ran like new! Have 125,000 on current Suburban and still does not burn any oil between changes - 7500 miles and the technician smiles because the old oil looks as clean as the new oil! - and runs as smooth as the day I drove it off the show room floor. Every GM dealer carries Mobil 1, use it and you will be amazed at the result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great engine longivity Been using Mobil 1 5W-30 in my 2000 Pontiac Montana, which I bought new, since about 30,000 miles and noticed the brown staining from conventional oil at the filler area. The car now has 340,000 and I still use the regular Mobil 1, not the high mileage, and still do not have to add any oil between changes at about 7,500 miles. I do the changes when the Pontiac oil change reminder comes on. When I change the oil, I look in the filler port and the engine is still clean and no sludge can be seen. Engine has never been apart except for the 3.4l intake manifold gasket failure, common on this engine I am highly satisfied with Mobil 1 and use it on my '84 Buick Riviera Convertable and '09 Chevy Avalanche

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cadillac ATS 2.0 Turbo I have used Mobil 1 since birth in my Chevrolet Cruze 1.4 Turbo and Cadillac ATS. I drive a lot of miles. I like the confidence that Mobil 1 provides, especially concerning the oil life meter. Moreover, I drive at high speeds and this creates a lot of heat in turbocharged engines, especially in warmer climates. I am confident that the engineers have provided enough testing and adjustments to the standard formulation in order to offer the highest level of protection possible. I do not see any need for the extended performance formula. "Mobil 1 is what it is" and I believe if I really wanted to take the standard formula through 15k mile oil change intervals, it wouldn't let me down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my Porsche 911 ! I use this oil as my summer oil and alternate between the 5w50 and the 0w40 for Summer and Winter respectively. Both are Porsche A40 approved oils and I like the extra protection for the summer months and when I go to the track. The winters are pretty mild here in NC so I will probably wind up just using the 5W50 year round once I deplete my current supply of 0w40. The 5W50 is hard to find and NAPA Auto Parts is about the only place I can get it on fairly short notice. I just call ahead and they get it in for me. I only wish this oil came in the convenient 5qt jugs here in the US.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Product for my toyota sienna 3.3 I switched from conventional oil in my Toyota Sienna to Mobil 1 5/30 at roughly 70K. I now know that conventional oil can cause sludge build up. Sludge is not a friend of any motor. I change my oil every 5K and also install a new Mobil 1 filter. My oil comes out a dark golden color--not black like the dyno oil did. The van actually uses no oil in 5K. It now has 130,000 miles on it and runs like new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More power, mileage, engine life, used since 1966 This oil does not burn until almost 450 degrees F. Still lubricating when others burn. My Honda 750F with Mobil1 was several bike lengths ahead of friends Honda 750 after changing to Mobil 1. Before they were pretty even. When I sold the bike 21 years later valves still did NOT need adjusting. Looked like new inside cylinder head. Smokey Unick dyno'd Nascar 355 Chevy, went from 303 to 333 hp on the dyno! Just by changing the oil! My Cadillac Northstar 300 hp still is clean inside, gets 30 mpg highway, has 80,000 miles using Mobil1 exclusively. 1978 VW Scirocco engine looked like new inside at 180,000 miles, good compression, was using one quart of oil every 1,500 miles.
