Mobil 1 ESP advanced full synthetic motor oils are designed to help prolong the life and maintain the efficiency of emission systems in both diesel- and gasoline-powered vehicles. They are designed to help deliver outstanding performance and protection in conjunction with potential fuel economy benefits.

Mobil 1 ESP oils are formulated to be fully compatible with passenger cars that have the latest diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and or those with gasoline catalytic converters (CATs).

Of the product lineup, Mobil 1™ ESP X2 0W-20 motor oil is our latest technology combining durability and protection with a low viscosity, low friction motor oil. It was designed in cooperation with key European original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to help prolong the life and maintain the efficiency of emission systems in new, emerging diesel- and gasoline-powered European vehicles that require SAE 0W-20 viscosity grades.

Of the product lineup, Mobil 1™ ESP 0W-30 and Mobil 1™ ESP 5W-30 oils meet or exceed the requirements of many leading industry and car manufacturers’ standards required for newer modern diesel- and gasoline-powered passenger car engines. They are especially suitable for extreme conditions where conventional oil often may not perform.

Of the product lineup, Mobil 1™ ESP Formula 0W-40 is the first and only dexos2™-approved motor oil developed specifically for Chevrolet Corvettes. Although Mobil 1™ 5W-30 motor oil is still recommended for many generations of Corvette, ExxonMobil recommends upgrading to Mobil 1 ESP Formula 0W-40 to help reduce oil consumption and provide maximum performance. The majority of GM/Opel/Vauxhall/Chevrolet Diesel and Gasoline vehicles can use dexos2™ lubricants as GM/Opel has advised that the dexos2™ specification is backward compatible to older GM/Opel specifications (GM-LL-A-025 and GM-LL-B-025).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used in my Ram 1500 EcoDiesel 3.0 litre Local dealership advised Penzoil European formula. Cost at dealership is $17.00+ per litre, at $10 litres required. Purchased Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 for just under $9.00/litre, which meets or exceeds requirements for truck. Continue to enjoy 29MPG average on highway, and 24MPG in city.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engine Oil Brilliance Hello, I am Partha from India. I own a Honda Amaze diesel. Although the manufacturer recommends its proprietary engine oil for its vehicles, I switched to Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30. The engine has done about 3000 kms since and has been a lot smoother, more responsive and I have noticed a substantial increment in fuel efficiency (I used to get about 14.5 kms per liter, now I get about 16 kms per liter. The only trouble I faced was procuring the engine oil, as there are not many dealers who would stock the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2002 VW TDI This oil has made the car run better than it has ever run before. It starts easier and idles smoother and quieter than when it was new. Mileage is up also. Combined with the HPR diesel fuel there is not smoke from this car or diesel smell. The price is well worth the benefits of the oil. I have 219000 miles on this engine and hope to get 500000. I will also start running this oil in all my gas cars as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best For Turbo Engines Mobil One is the best oil choice for any engine, but it is a absolute requirement for any engine that is turbo-charged. Turbo bearings will start to coke with conventional oils, this is because the turbo energy comes from the high heat of exhaust gases. When a turbo engine is shut down immediately after running at say Interstate speeds the oil starts to burn to the bearings, and doing this over time will cause the turbo to fail. Synthetic Mobil One has a very high tolerance to hot shut down, and does not easily coke. I found this out the hard way many years ago. Surprised how expensive a new turbo-charger cost, but more surprised at the labor cost, so do yourself a favor and only use Mobil One Synthetic oil in your turbo-charged engine. A good idea is to allow your turbo-charged engine to idle for say 15 to 30 seconds before turning off the ignition. I also highly recommend Mobil One Synthetics in all other engines. Drive longer and more miles with Mobil One. Less friction equals better fuel mileage too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even in high mileage engine... I use ESP 5w30 for, at least, the last 20,000 miles in my European version GA16DE (non VTC-102hp) engine of my Almera N15 (=Sentra B14). Here in Greece, we experience temps from -10 to +42 deg. Celsius. My motor has now 138,000 miles on and I still haven't experienced oil consumption and, although perfectly maintained by the book, I don't hesitate to drive on b-roads on mountains reving high (.....to 7100rpm). Lubrication is at its best from cold start to operating temp and the oil and compression piston rings are like new (I changed to forged pistons a week ago). All these, thanks to Mobil 1 ESP's outstanding wear protection of the additives' oil film that reacts with the metal surfaces. Did I mention that I 've made some moderate tuning (cams, f.p.r., headers-exhaust, head milling etc, yet n/a)? Oil change intervals at 3,000mi, by the book of course and K&N oil filter. Exceptional product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mobil 1 used since 1984 When I first used Mobil 1 in a Renault 19, the first change from ordinary oil took away so much friction that I had to turn down the idle speed on the carburettor. With my modern Subaru diesel, everyone who rides with me for the first time comments "is this really a diesel?". I am asked for advice by my work colleagues and they know that I get over 10% better economy than the EU stated combined figure. Some of this is down to usage but I do make progress when out on the highway and I can always tell when an oil change with Mobil 1 is due. As my mpg eases down, the oil change is going to recover my mileage figure. Cost is never an issue, in my view the difference for the best is only a small amount. Alternatively an engine rebuild damages my credit cards. Admittedly in 31 years, I have not used much else but I do read the reports and yet to discover something to change my mind.
